Sony Alpha A7 & A7R Review

Chris Kim February 22, 2014

Once in a blue moon, a product enters the frame of an industry and changes the market forever. Just as the iPhone shook the mobile phone industry in 2007, both the Sony Alpha A7 and the A7R will shake the camera industry with their upcoming release. As the most compact and affordable cameras that Sony has ever produced, both the Alpha A7 and A7R boast unparalleled image quality for their sizes, and are able to compete toe-to-toe with some of the notable DSLR cameras dominating the market (Nikon I am looking at you) for a lesser price.

The Modular Phone

Zander Sohn February 3, 2014

Phonebloks is envisioned to be a modular smartphone made up of interchangeable blocks that are easily upgraded or restored if broken. Users can simply design and assemble their phones according to their needs and wants and leave out the components that they do not desire. Furthermore, the device can be upgraded using bits, one at a time. Though it’s an innovative and somewhat convenient idea, the appearance of the Phoneblok will certainly not be appealing, which is a major market setback for the project.

Google's 'Block Party'

Alex Byun September 28, 2013

If you are an owner of a Windows-based Phone, the chances of that being quite slim, sadly for now you must tediously use the under-par Internet Explorer app to access YouTube. In contrast, fortunate iPhone users are blessed with the YouTube app that was specifically designed to make the world’s favorite video portal easily accessible hassle free. This is especially unfortunate since Windows Phone users were told that they would not be in such a position back in May and then again in  August. Nonetheless, Google’s repeated decisions have chosen to block such developments from materializing.

Tech Crewsaders Admin September 27, 2013

Since its first announcement in April of 2012, Project Glass proved itself an idea with potential - enough to rapidly spread into a worldwide sensation. So, what exactly is this new piece of technology that has taken the internet and news by storm?

The Google Glass is an augmented-reality headset that projects a high resolution display above the right eye. It comes with a 5-megapixel camera and the ability to take 720p videos, audio in the form of a bone conduction transducer, 12 gigabytes of usable memory space, a rechargeable battery capable of approximately one full working day, and full Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capability. BlackBerry's Comeback?

Lillian Sheng June 5, 2013

With the recent release of the BlackBerry Z10, there have been circling arguments about the quality of the product and the future of the company that made it—Research in Motion. The new BlackBerry Z10 will not look radical to any consumer – it’s not some daring departure, a flash of color and playfulness like the latest crop of Windows Phone devices from Nokia and HTC. It is a safe, refined look and very similar to BlackBerry’s previous efforts in smartphone design.

A Review of the Google Pixel

Justin Kae June 5, 2013

The first ever Google-designed computer has had some interesting responses from the press. The new Pixel goes against the foundation of the original Chromebook concept— Cheap. Many of the  original Chromebooks were around $200-$500, usually with low quality displays and overall build quality. With every Chromebook comes the free Chrome OS, a modified version of Linux that highly promotes the use of web apps. In other words, when you open the computer you are just getting the Chrome browser. Eric Schmidt, the “father of Google Apps and the Chromebooks”, has stated that a web-browser has no need for fancy, high-quality hardware.s stated that a web-browser has no need for fancy, high-quality hardware.
